Meet Kayla Sterling
Born and raised in Maine, Kayla proudly calls Scarborough her home. She has earned top producer status in real estate for two consecutive years at a local firm. Her experience finding homes in a competitive real estate market drives her to find solutions to Maine’s housing crisis. She’s seen firsthand the struggles to find homes in the towns where many residents grew up.
A graduate of Deering High School and the University of Southern Maine, she values local public education. Maine held the top national honors in average math scores but has yet to catch up, dropping below the national average.
Kayla will work to keep Maine competitive for small local businesses. As our state has collected record revenues in recent years, state spending has been accelerated while policymakers have found ways to make it even more challenging to build a future here.
As a Junior League of Portland member, she works to elevate women in leadership roles in the community through volunteer activity and community engagement. Kayla cherishes living in Maine most because she loves being outdoors, whether skilling, hiking, hunting, or tossing a bucket of tennis balls to her golden retriever, Jackson.
